There’s great excitement building here at Rockport as we prepare for boyband @absntmindmusic who are visiting next Thursday to put on a show for our R7-R12 pupils!

The band will be promoting positive personal development through the medium of live music and we can’t wait to experience it 🎹🎤🎸

Marvelling at some of these creations by our R10 pupils who have been learning how to use Photoshop in Digital Technology, with the theme of Distortion. They have been learning to replicate the work of @merveozaslancollage and @thomas_barbey ✨

On Saturday 17th May 2025 we are hosting the Rockport May Ball at Titanic Belfast.

Tickets are now on sale and are priced at £900 for a table of 10 (includes a champagne reception and wine at the table). Individual tickets will also be available priced at £95pp.

‘The New Brass Kings’ will entertain with live music, so get your dancing shoes ready!

Our Year 13 pupils had a great morning at the @mcsgroupbelfast offices thanks to CIPD Northern Ireland, Danske Bank, Thales, Workplus, PwC and Eakin Healthcare. They got an invaluable insight into the opportunities available to them through degree apprenticeships.

Thank you to all involved, and to our fantastic pupils who, as always, conducted themselves so well throughout the event.

Well done to all P7s who sat the SEAG and received your results today!

Our netball teams recently hosted 5 teams from Hoe Bridge School in Woking, Surrey. Across 6 matches played, we achieved 3 wins, 2 losses, and 1 draw. All the girls played very well with 100% commitment, and we were very proud of them all!

Our team of Daisy Graham, Maisie Tolland, Annabella Cole, and Stella Brannigan finished second in the Year 7-9 Novice Level Northern Ireland Regional Championship 2024 this afternoon.

The girls now travel to the next round in Newcastle Upon Tyne.

Super proud of them and Caitlin Ross who took part in the Elite Level competition.

Our carol singers are well rehearsed and looking forward to performing for you all in the beautiful St Anne’s Cathedral in Belfast on Friday.

The Sixth Form team will then arrange delivery of items to Belfast on behalf of the Rockport community.

If you are shopping over the next week and would like to contribute, the following items can be brought to form rooms and Sixth Form students will circulate and collect items on a daily basis from classrooms.

Our pupils and teachers kicked off Anti-Bullying Week by showing off their odd socks and celebrating our differences and everything that makes us unique ⭐️🧦

Our Heads of School and Headmaster laid a wreath of remembrance, while our younger pupils chose to memorialise fallen soldier, Rockportian Lawrie Lorimer at our front door.

23 poppies for 23 Tommies. Our youngest pupils remember our fallen Rockportians.

Today, we remember our 23 Rockportians who lost their lives in two world wars: a great rate of attrition in a school which had rarely more than 40 pupils in the early 20th Century.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

Lest we forget.

Thank you to Education Minister @paul.givan.mla and North Down MLA @stephendunnemla for visiting Rockport today, spending time with our Headmaster and learning about all that Rockport offers our young people.

We are so pleased to officially launch our Rockport African Friendship Scholarship. Generously funded by the Rockport Scholarships and Bursaries Fund.

Aligning with the @r0undsquare ethos of internationalism, this Scholarship will allow exceptional young Africans to have a formative academic and cultural experience in a completely different environment, and build on our existing strong relations with both Zimbabwe and South Africa.

Very proud of our Senior School Football Squad who battled hard this week against a strong Nendrum College side, suffering a narrow 2-1 defeat in extra time. Well done boys!

Rockport’s inaugural Arts Showcase was an incredible event - putting the spotlight on the eclectic mix of talent and interests shared by our pupils.

We are so proud of all our young people and the fantastic performances they put on - and we hope to bring you more shows like this in the near future!

A big thanks to all the teachers and pupils involved, and to past pupil @bakedbyannna who presented the performing pupils with beautiful home baked cookies to celebrate!

What a start to the school year! Making the most of the final few sunny days, Upper Juniors took to the Mournes and R8 and R10 enjoyed overnight residential at Ardaluin.

Soaking up all that the great outdoors has to offer, our pupils embraced the @r0undsquare ethos of environmentalism and adventure as they explored and enjoyed their beautiful surroundings.
